SUNBUL means a spike of a grain, or the ear of corn. In Somalia, one tree often has a minimum of 7 sunbuls, often representing the potential of abundance in food and health. SUNBUL Foundation was started in 2020 to spark change in communities in Somalia, across the humanitarian and education sector. We have done on the ground work in areas of providing healthy food and clean water, teaching computer literacy, and expanding education services. Since then, we’ve expanded beyond Somalia, with a focus on Muslim communities across the East African diaspora. We look forward to connecting with local communities and like-minded organizations to create lasting change in these communities
