SUNBUL means a spike of a grain, or the ear of corn. In Somalia, one tree can have a minimum of 7 sunbuls, often representing the potential of abundance in food and health.
SUNBUL Foundation was founded by Somali-American leaders in the DC, Maryland, and Virginia area with the goal of creating lasting community change in Somalia across the humanitarian and education sector. We’ve expanded our work to focus on Muslim communities across the East African diaspora.
